From the very beginning, we need to say that unfortunately, Citroen vehicles cannot tow caravans. Why? Do they not have enough power? No, they are quite powerful. Are they too delicate? No, they are quite tough.
So, what is the problem? They cannot install the towing hitch and the necessary electrical installation that needs to be added to the car with the towing hitch is not available in Turkey.
Yes, you heard it right. This simple component, which costs between 100 EUR and 150 EUR, is unfortunately not available in Turkey. And when you ask “don’t they have any alternatives?”, Citroen Turkey warns that it will void the warranty of the car.
But how can they demand such a thing for a service they cannot provide? We also heard the same thing from Çetaş Büyükçekmece dealership. Not only from them, but also from the entire Citroen team in Turkey. They stated that a towing hitch of 10,000 TL could potentially void the warranty of a 1,000,000 TL car.
We have been trying to get this towing hitch from Citroen, without compromising the warranty of our car, by paying the price for almost a month now. However, unfortunately, we have not made any progress. During this process, we contacted them via phone 4-5 times and visited Çetaş Büyükçekmece dealership 3 times, but we could not get any results.

We need to emphasize that none of these are related to Citroen brand and PSA Group. The problem is completely related to Citroen Turkey and Çetaş Büyükçekmece dealership.
As a Citroen user for 7 years, we would like to address Citroen Global, PSA Group, and Citroen Turkey and say that one screw can bring down an airplane. We have experienced this situation. We wanted to warn our valuable caravan enthusiast friends to prevent them from experiencing the same thing.
